Inclement
Weather Policy
Rosholt Fair Association,
Inc.
The
Rosholt Fair Association, Inc, hereby adopts this Inclement
Weather policy in the interest of public safety.
The
Fair Association in conjunction with local emergency
services will monitor potentially dangerous weather
conditions as they arise. The Fair Association will
maintain a weather Radio in the Fair Office that will be
monitored at all times.
If the
National Weather Service Announces a Watch for Sever
Weather, the Rosholt Fair Association President or designee
will contact to the Portage County Sheriffs Department to
gain more information in order to announce the watch on the
public address system.
If the
National Weather Service Announces a Sever Weather Warning,
the President or designee will Contact the Portage County
Sheriffs Department to attain in-depth information to
announce on the public address system the next steps to
take.
Evacuation Process
In
case of an evacuation all gates will be utilized for
vehicular traffic with the exception of main and west
gates. The main and west gates may be used for vehicular
traffic once all pedestrians have exited the main
fairgrounds.
Taking Cover on the Grounds
Designated severe weather shelters are located in the
basement of the exhibit hall and under the stage.
Barn or
Structural Fire Policy
Rosholt Fair Association,
Inc.
The
Rosholt Fair Association, Inc, hereby adopts this Barn or
Structural Fire Policy in the interest of public safety.
Barn or Structural Fire
The
building and all surrounding buildings should be evacuated.
Rosholt Fair Association staff should ensure no one reenters
the any buildings and keep the public at a safe distance.
In the
interest of safety the public is strongly discouraged to
attempt to save any livestock in the case of a barn fire.
Fire
lanes and a reasonable area are to be maintained around each
building and structure for emergency personnel and
equipment.
Medical
Emergency Policy
Rosholt Fair Association,
Inc.
The
Rosholt Fair Association, Inc, hereby adopts this Medical
Emergency Policy in the interest of public safety.
Medical Emergency
In the
case of a medical emergency, 911 should be dialed
immediately. The Rosholt Fair Association or bystander
should call 911 and report the emergency with complete
details of the emergency. Fair Association Staff will stay
on site to ensure adequate space for emergency personnel and
equipment. The Rosholt Fair Association Staff will escort
EMT's from the front gate to the individual in need of care.
The Rosholt Fair Association, Inc., staff and volunteers
are not trained for advanced medical emergencies. Any care
given is provided under the Good Samaritan Law of Wisconsin.
Lost Child
Policy
Rosholt Fair Association,
Inc.
The
Rosholt Fair Association, Inc, hereby adopts this Lost Child
Policy in the interest of public safety.
Parents should immediately report lost children to the
Fairground Office or find a staff member and request
assistance. The staff member should immediately contact the
Office or Fair Association President.
Anyone
finding a lost child should immediately take the lost child
to the Fair Office.
Lost Child Procedures for volunteers and staff
Any
volunteer or staff member finding a lost child should
immediately escort the child to the Fair Office. If the
volunteer is unable to leave their position, radio the
Office for assistance. Any parent looking for a lost child
should be directed to the Fair Office. Once a staff member
or volunteer takes possession of a lost child, the child
should only be released to a parent or a Fair Association
Board member.
The
Fair Office shall be equipped with communication to the
gates and security.
Once a
lost child has been reported to the Office, the President or
designee shall radio the gates, staff and security to not
permit any child under age 13 to leave the gates without a
parent, guardian or other custodian, until a clear notice is
radioed. As soon as possible the President or designee shall
broadcast a description of the lost child to all of the
gates, security and staff. Once a description of the lost
child has been broadcast the gates they may allow children
to pass if they are reasonably certain that they do not fit
the age, description or name of the lost child.
a) For
children under ten (10) years of age, if they are not found
within five (5) minutes of being reported to the Office, the
President or designee shall make a public announcement.
b) For
children ten (10) years of age through twelve (12) years of
age, the waiting interval, before making a public
announcement shall be ten (10) minutes.
c) No
announcement, shall be made for children thirteen (13) years
of age or older unless the President or designee determines
that there are special circumstances.
d) As
soon as the President or designee deems appropriate, they
shall also notify the Portage County Sheriffs Department.
Rosholt Fair Association Staff shall defer to the Portage
County Sheriffs Department if they issue any orders or
directions with regard to a lost child report.
e) The
age limit or time limit for announcement may be increased or
decreased at the sole determination of the President or
designee if special circumstances exist.
When a
lost child is reported to the Fair Office, the President or
designee shall take note of the following information:
--Name, description and contact information for the parent(s),
guardian(s) or custodian(s); --the child's name, age,
height, weight, hair color, eye color, skin color, gender,
clothes worn at time child went missing, last location where
child was seen, identifying information of the last person
to have seen the child.
Staff
and Security shall also be instructed to escort any lost
child, or any parent looking for a lost child, to the Fair
Office. The Rosholt Fair Association, Inc. assumes no
responsibility for checking or assuring that an adult, with
whom a child is re-united, is the proper parent, guardian or
custodian of such child. THE PUBLIC IS SPECIFICALLY
CAUTIONED THAT THE ROSHOLT FAIR ASSOCIATION, INC. DOES NOT
HAVE THE ABILITY TO MAKE SUCH DETERMINATIONS. Anyone
attending a Rosholt Fair Association event does so at their
own risk and is deemed to assume the risk of such
attendance. Any adult who brings a child to a Rosholt Fair
Association event assumes the responsibility for monitoring
that child and for assuring that child's safety. At no time
does Rosholt Fair Association, Inc. nor any employees,
agents or volunteers of either organization, assume in loco
parentis or any other such authority over children attending
a Rosholt Fair Association event..
Copies
of these procedures shall be posted on the Rosholt Fair
Association Web site, in the Fair office and shall be kept
on site at each event of the Rosholt Fair Association. The
President, designees, Board of Directors, staff, security
and other volunteers shall be trained in these procedures.
Nothing in these procedures, or any omission in the
execution of these procedures, shall be deemed a contract,
legal undertaking or a legal standard for Rosholt Fair
Association, Inc. Nothing in these procedures, nothing not
addressed by these procedures and no actions taken pursuant
to these procedures shall create any legal liability for
Rosholt Fair Association, Inc. nor for any employees, agents
or volunteers of this organization.
This
policy is to be reviewed annually prior to the start of any
Association public events. |
